Woven Heritage

This pattern book was created as part of a scholarship project funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2024.

The project focused on collecting and graphically developing 15 traditional woven patterns created using the pick-up technique, commonly known as perebory, prątki, wybieranki, or w deski.

The selected designs have been compiled into a Polish–English e-book.

The pattern book features coverlets from the collections of the following museums:

• Ethnographic Department of the National Museum in Gdańsk

• Museum of Southern Podlasie in Biała Podlaska

• Father Krzysztof Kluk Museum of Agriculture in Ciechanowiec

• Seweryn Udziela Ethnographic Museum in Kraków

• Ethnographic Museum, branch of the National Museum in Wrocław

• Museum of Folk Culture in Węgorzewo

• Museum of Pomeranian Folk Culture in Swołowo

• Ethnographic Museum in Zielona Góra–Ochla

The publication also includes interviews with three weavers who use the pick-up technique in their work.
