Join us for an intensive four-day weaving workshop dedicated to the traditional multi-shaft weaving technique known as przetykana. The workshop is designed for people who already have some weaving experience and would like to expand their skills by learning more complex methods of working on a loom.
During the workshop, participants will explore the complete process of creating a woven textile – from technical calculations and preparing the warp to weaving the finished piece. Particular emphasis will be placed on understanding the construction of multi-shaft woven textiles and the practical application of the traditional przetykana technique.
Workshop Programme
During the workshop, participants will work through the following stages:
Calculating the warp,
Selecting the appropriate warp for the chosen yarn,
Measuring and preparing the warp,
Winding the warp onto the loom,
Threading the warp through the heddles and reed,
Setting up and preparing the loom for weaving,
Weaving using the przetykana technique,
Analysing the developing textile structure and solving technical weaving problems.
The workshop is highly practical and guides participants step by step through every stage of the weaving process. It is designed for weavers who would like to develop their technical skills, gain a deeper understanding of the possibilities offered by multi-shaft looms, and learn how to consciously create more complex woven structures.
