Join us for an intensive five-day weaving workshop designed for people who already have basic weaving experience and would like to deepen their knowledge and develop their skills in the traditional Polish weaving technique known as wybierana (pick-up technique).
Over the course of 40 hours, participants will go through the entire process of preparing and creating a woven textile – from the initial design to the finished piece. The workshop is highly practical, with most of the time spent at the loom, working through each stage of the process and learning how to solve technical problems as they arise.
Workshop Programme
During the workshop, participants will learn:
How to correctly calculate the warp,
How to select the appropriate warp for the chosen yarn,
How to measure and prepare the warp,
How to wind the warp onto the loom,
How to thread the warp through the heddles and reed,
How to correctly set up and prepare the loom for weaving,
How to weave using the traditional wybierana technique, step by step,
How to identify and solve common problems encountered during weaving.
Each participant will work at their own loom with individual guidance from the instructor, allowing them to refine their technique and develop their weaving skills through hands-on practice.
