About Us
LoomRoom was born from Magda’s passion — a craftswoman working with weaving, cross-stitch embroidery, and the collection of traditional folk textiles.
In her studio in the heart of Podlasie, she dedicates herself to weaving, creating rugs, bands, pick-up weaves, and multi-shaft textiles. She draws inspiration both from traditional Podlasie patterns and from global design, giving her work a unique and contemporary character.
She also works with cross-stitch embroidery, recreating patterns from traditional folk costumes. At the same time, she is engaged in the digitization of patterns from Podlasie textiles, bringing together cultural heritage and modern approaches.
Magda not only creates, but also shares her knowledge with others. She has led embroidery and weaving workshops at institutions such as the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw, the Ethnography Department of the National Museum in Gdańsk, the Seweryn Udziela Ethnographic Museum in Kraków, the Podlasie Institute of Culture in Białystok, and many others.
Her private collection includes unique textiles — multi-shaft weaves, perebory, sejpaki, as well as various lengths of fabric such as linen for shirts, ceremonial towels, and mattress ticking. The collection, currently consisting of several dozen pieces, continues to grow.
Magda is a recipient of a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. As part of this scholarship, she conducted research in ethnographic museums across Poland and published the book “Woven Heritage – A Pattern Book for Craft Artists.”
As part of the two-year project “Perebory. Odsłony – Popularizing UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage”, carried out by the Museum of Southern Podlasie in Biała Podlaska, she developed and digitized several hundred patterns, now available on the website www.perebory.pl.
